Child abuse

Age of 18

This short film has been contributed by Ko Sat.

Drugs are abundantly available in our environment nowadays, causing serious problems. The young girl portrayed in this film got sexually assaulted by her drug abusing father. It's certain that she suffered physical consequences and mental trauma as a result of that abuse. Today, drug abuse spreads widely at the community level, taking advantage of vulnerable people in society, so it is critical to identify and address the core causes of drug abuse. Parents should act as parents, with responsible parenting. They should be conscious of the impacts their actions will have on their children: there's a high chance that children will follow their parents' behaviors and develop drug addiction problems themselves. In this case, the father is not in a position to be forgiven for anything, including substance misuse and rape of a child. Finally, creating a safe environment for children and young people, like the girl in this film, is critical.
