Each month, I will convert the numbers back to the Excel file. A girl from the Finance Department has to sign back. This is a monthly issue for Maung Maung. It is also the practice of the female staff in the accounting department.
Ko Maung Maung is the head of the household who has been married for more than 10 years. He lives with the woman's family. They live together in a line room, so it seems cramped. But this is not the point of this article. This is about the Pay Slips that are updated at the end of every month.
Maung Maung is a person who has to pay all his salary to his wife. Specifically, he has to give everything to his woman. His wife pays him back just for the betel nut and 500 kyats for coffee per day. He does not get paid extra money for transportation because the office offers a ferry. However, Maung Maung also has some income that women do not know yet.

Everyone in the office loves Ko Maung Maung because he is not a drunkard and also he is honest. Then, they found out that he had to pay back all his salaries to his wife, they encouraged him to use the money himself without showing the slip to his wife when he received the bonus. Even when his salary went up and he did not show any new slips to his wife. His colleagues tried to edit the pay slip.
Of course, there is an issue for this pay slip editing.
Ko Maung Maung’s wife, Ma Seinn, sends the girl from his office something to eat almost twice a week. She does this not only to build a good relationship with them, but also to check on what her husband, Ko Mg Mg, is doing or is planning to do. They usually talk on the phone too.
Ko Maung Maung really likes Manchester United and he likes the legendary player Berbatov very much. He also plays Chin Lone, imitating Berbatov’s style. One day, some young people asked him to play football with them. He played with them, but missed the ferry back home. Ko Maung Maung got beaten up that day when he got home.
There were two reasons he got beaten up: the first one was because he played football, and the second one was because he missed the ferry so he had to take a motorcycle which cost an extra 800 kyat.
Since that happened, he doesn't play football anymore. However, on days Manchester United plays, he borrows newspapers from the salesmen in his office and reads them. He sometimes reads posts from the Man United Facebook Groups too.
On Big Match days,the boys from the office pay his internet bill for him, which costs around 3000 kyat, so that he can watch the football matches on Facebook.
After all that, guys from the office encouraged him to use his own bonuses for himself. Ko Maung Maung began to get familiar with editing his payslips.
Even though Ko Maung Maung gets scolded by his wife, she also praises him. She has been heard bragging to her friends about how he stays quiet and calm no matter how she scolds or beats him, and how he gives her all the money he earns from working. She also talks about it when she talks with the women from the office on the phone too. The women are still staying cool with Ma Seinn whilst also editing payslips for Ko Maung Maung.
Ko Maung Maung was very happy the last time I met him because Christiano Ronaldo, a former Man United player, was returning to the team. He was proudly wearing a red Man United jersey (made in China which cost 6000 kyat). He lied to his wife about the jersey by telling her that he won it from a lottery at the office.
I wonder - Is he upset now that Man United is failing expectations? Is editing the payslips still going well? I should call my old office one day to ask about all of this.

Furthermore, in society men are usually expected to be brave and capable of leading, which makes it harder for men to express their feelings. It is critical to properly listen to the victims without judging or criticizing them. In this story, the wife tries to rule her husband and control everything in the marriage. Even when someone gets married, it doesn’t mean that they are giving up their own life to live. Everyone needs their own time to do what they enjoy. The wife also tries to control the financial matters and her husband’s spending in this story, which can be known as financial abuse. Not just in marriage, but in any relationship, you will not be happy if you constantly lie to each other. Building trust is fundamental in relationships. In conclusion, any gender can experience abuse, therefore it is critical to assist victims regardless of their identities.
